Friday 14th - Bloomfield Track to Cape Tribulation

Today we ventured south towards Bloomfield which is the start of the Bloomfield Track, it is 32km of dirt with a number of small creek crossings, we did part of it before deciding to reduce out tyre pressures which made for a more comfortable ride.

It is a very hilly picturesque trip with many of the very steep dirt sections replaced with grooved concrete to get better traction.

Cape Tribulation is very picturesque with white sandy beaches, even though there are signs warning of crocodile there where foreign tourists swimming.

Lunch was Barra chips and a beer at the Jungle Bar at the pub at Cape Tribulation.

Cam and Garry decided to continue onto Port Douglas and suss out a caravan park and have a night away from the oldies.

On the way back we stopped at Wujal Wujal bridge to look for a crocodile which we where told was in the area, no such luck.

Not far through town we saw Ian and Helen stopped and pointing towards the river, was it a croc sighting. Sure was, there where two, a big 4.5m and a small one.

Later on down the road we saw another one which was only a fraction smaller.

Back at camp it was time to relax around the fire where we had a visit from a native goanna.
