Twenty minutes out of Port Douglas is Hartley's Crocodile Adventures which has over 2100 metres of elevated boardwalk and shady pathways which lead on a journey of discovery through wetlands and rainforest. This expansive property which was once cleared for farming has undergone extensive restoration and is now a thriving habitat for an array of native wildlife.
A 25 minute boat ride explores the natural habitat of the Estuarine Crocodile in the safety of specially constructed vessels. crocodile sightings are guaranteed.
We visited the Crocodile farm and saw how crocodile farming works, after hatching the crocodile grow to about 1.8 meters in 3 years.
We then continued onto Lake Placid caravan park where we are staying for 3 nights before commencing the last leg home. We have visited most of the locations on the map.
