Today we headed up to the Daintree to have a look around, first off was the Daintree Village, it has a nice caravan park on the river at $10 p.p a night which is pretty much the norm for the smaller parks. It would be a very relaxing place to stay, they must get plenty of water in the wet as the water level markers show 13 meters up near the caravan park.

The village has a pub, general store and a couple of souvenir shops, a woodwork museum and an art gallery.
It was then off to the Daintree River ferry, at $14 one way or $25 return it is a bit of a rip off for tourists when a local resident can get a 2 year pass for $15 and a book of vouchers for their visitors that equates to 20c a trip.
Heading towards the Discovery Centre we stopped off at the Alexander Range lookout which has a great view looking out towards the Low Isles.
The Discovery Centre was $32pp which was a bit over the top so we went a little further on.
Jindalaba Boardwalk, it was a very picturesque walk and in a very tranquil setting.
We continued north to Cow Bay which has a lovely beach, there was a group of young "alternate" people doing some weird dancing on the beach.
Chris and Helen ventured up the beach and found a young Cassaway chick which appeared to be separated from its mum, on the way they did a dance for the "alternative's".
